Granbury Deli - Cheese Shop Rep - Part time

About the role

As a Cheese Shop Representative, you'll provide a well-stocked, well-maintained department while providing superior customer service. You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh cheese on a daily basis while maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service / Sales:
  • Provides superior customer service
  • Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
  • Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build sales
• Food Service:
  • Prepares, packages, merchandises fresh product effectively
  • Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
  • Assists in technical areas as needed (e.g., basic set-up and clean-up processes)
• Food Safety:
  • Cleans and sanitizes display cases
  • Operates / maintains equipment properly
  • Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards, and department / Store operating procedures

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age
• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Completion of Company Orientation, and food safety and sanitation training – Upon Hire
• Completion of all necessary department training

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Understanding and knowledge of top cheese families and selections
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, symbol, scales, label machine)
• Strong customer service skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Reading and writing skills
• Planning and organizing skills

Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks. Work with customers, staying attentive to their needs.
