Grain Elevator Operator - 575-Ohio

Brief Description

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with some flexibility in hours. Hours may vary depending on need. Some weekend hours are also required as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Work safely within company policy, procedures, and governmental regulations and fully participate in company safety programs.
• Perform critical operations to keep facility running.
• Assist all areas of the unloading, loading, and transferring of grain and grain products, including barge, truck, and rail operations.
• Develop a knowledge of the product you are dealing with and its hazardous properties.
• Understand the proper operation of conveyance equipment used in the shipping, receiving, and transferring of grain and grain products and the associated safety systems of that equipment.
• Provide a high level of customer service by displaying courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable interactions and behaviors.
• Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good working order, participate in the overall maintenance of the facility and equipment, and notify management of any necessary repairs or possible equipment concerns.
• Remove choke-ups, clean spills, and follow proper safety policies while doing so.
• Be an involved/engaged member of a team and be willing to act and think independently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work outside all year is a must!
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to collaborate with a team.
• Flexible and able to multitask; can work within a fast-moving environment.
• Able to work long hours on a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
