About the role
Evaluator Trainee/Evaluator I positions within the Office of the Registrar/Graduation are available.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates and re-evaluates student records in the processing and awarding of degrees and the processing of graduation checks efficiently and expeditiously.
- Follows and interprets procedure and policy set forth by the State Education and Administrative codes, University Catalog, Academic Senate and internal office documents provided by the Registrar’s Office.
- The incumbent will be responsible for the awarding of Baccalaureate, Master and Doctorate Degrees as well as Minors and Certificates.
- The incumbent applies appropriate coding into various components associated to graduation and the GET Advisement module (CAAR).
- Serves as a liaison to academic departments to support advisement, help facilitate student graduation and to assist advisors in navigating and encoding appropriate data into the CAAR modules.
- Provides general office operational support and assists with orientation and training of Evaluator Trainees and new advisors regarding CAAR functionality during the supervisor's absence.
Requirements
- Evaluator Trainee: Equivalent to six months responsible experience involving academic, administrative, fiscal or statistical records processing and maintenance, OR two years of full-time college with course work specific to development of quantitative and analytical skills.
- Evaluator I: Equivalent to completion of a formal training program in academic records evaluation OR one year of academic records evaluation experience OR any 12-month combination of training and experience related to academic records evaluation.
- Prior experience working in academic records; knowledge of Degree Audit Systems and/or Student Record databases.
- Candidates must have appropriate math and computer skills in order to analyze final GPA’s, deficiency points, academic renewals, transfer credits and honor calculations.
- Must possess critical thinking skills and be able to logically back decisions and exercise sound professional judgment in interpreting and applying academic policies, regulations, and degree requirements.
- High level of communication, written and listening skills required.
- Ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.

$4,074 - $5,998/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $4,074 - $4,262/Monthly)
Schedule
Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.
