Graduate Assistants will assist the Floor Engineer with the operations of the I-HACK Makerspace and collaboration with CEB Senior Design Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments accurately and promptly
  • Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory instruments
  • Assist in the setup and use of new lab equipment
  • Prepare experiments, set up and assist faculty with laboratory classes
  • Enter, clean, and analyze data using Excel spreadsheets and applicable statistical programs
  • Understand and practice lab safety protocols
  • Coordinate meetings, manage calendars, and take minutes at meetings
  • Collaborate with undergraduate students on research and class projects
  • Assist in responsibilities regarding Makerspace
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope, responsibility, and requirements of the position

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in an appropriate engineering/business field
  • Full-time enrollment in a Master of CEB program

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical trade skills
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Working engineering skills
  • Practical OSHA knowledge
  • Leadership skills

Physical Demands

  • Able to work in a busy laboratory environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Schedule

  • Position Length: 9 months
  • Hours per Week: 10
  • Work Schedule: Office hours, depending on candidate's schedule
  • Shift: 1st
