About the role

Under supervision of the TIN program chair and CACS advisor, the TIN GA provides support for the TIN program chair and CACS advisor. This is a non-exempt, temporary part time staff position.

Responsibilities

• Works with CACS advisor and/or NPTS GA to compile a weekly "Opportunity" newsletter for NPTI students with relevant announcements and job/internship openings.
• Assists TIN program chair as needed.
• Updates TIN Job/Internship folder and spreadsheet as needed.
• Updates tracking spreadsheet with faculty and student accomplishments, such as publications or conference presentations.
• Serves as a liaison between the program chair and TIN students.
• Supports end of the semester program reception for graduating students.
• Acts as representative of TIN program to prospective students as needed.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Program.

Qualifications

• Current computer skills, to include word processing, knowledge of internet, email and database management (Excel, Handshake).
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality skills.
• Capacity to prioritize and organize work requests and projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and public relations skills, including ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff and fellow students.
• Willingness and ability to comply with Institute policies, procedures, and mandates.
• A combination of education and experience, which would demonstrate possession of the skills required for the position.

Pay

Compensated at the Level A rate on the MIIS student wage scale. $16.95 per hour.

Schedule

All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session. Specifically: February recess, Spring recess, and full weeks of December or summer recess. During these time periods only, students can work up to 40 hours per week. Visa restrictions prohibit international students from exceeding 20 hours of work per academic calendar week.
