Graduate Research Assistant

Part-time hourly graduate research assistant position supporting projects on how parents and siblings guide and influence adolescents’ digital use in the household. Approximately 5-10 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester at $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting parent-adolescent dyads in the State College area and online across the nation
• Schedule interviews with eligible families
• Conduct in-person or online interviews with one parent and one adolescent from each family
• Assist with providing participant compensation after interview completion

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a PhD degree program at Penn State
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills
• Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively on a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in digital media use, family influence, and adolescent health

Pay

$20.00 per hour

Approximately 5-10 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester
