Graduate Research Assistant
Overview
The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking Graduate Research Assistants (GRA) to support faculty across lab and activity-based courses. Research Assistants provide instructional support/lab support to Pathobiology faculty members. Specific duties and lab experiences can vary by specific service (Bacteriology & Mycology, Clinical Pathology, Comparative Pathology Core, Flow Cytometry, Hemostasis & Platelets, Histopathology, Parasitology, Serology-Virology).
Responsibilities
- Report all laboratory data and findings to the advisor.
- Present data in the weekly lab meeting.
- Attend conferences to present the research results when available.
- Conceive and pursue research projects.
- Design experiments.
- Prepare drafts of manuscripts.
- Efficiently maintain research ethics.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day routine, laboratory research issues, and report to the advisor regularly.
- Finish all the graduate coursework and preliminary exam requirements within two years from the date of joining.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at Auburn University.
- Registered for at least one course (anything carrying an Auburn University course number) during each academic term of the assistantship.
- Satisfy the minimum course load specifications of the individual departments and be making satisfactory progress toward the degree.
