About the role
The Graduate Nurse (GN) provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process and performs delegated functions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and CHMC policies.
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
Requirements
- Maintains BLS certification.
- Must be in pursuit of a registered nurse (RN) license.
- Must pass the NCLEX exam within 90 days of hire.
- May not continue practicing as a GN if the NCLEX is failed.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (AA, BSN, or MSN).
- Successfully completed nursing boards and received licensure.
