Graduate Intern - Men's Basketball

About the Role

Batten University, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, is seeking a Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant. The position reports to the Head Men's Basketball Coach and supports a program with 24 varsity sports teams and nearly 500 student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment of quality student-athletes
• Support scheduling, game management, and coaching
• Plan and conduct practices
• Organize team travel
• Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress
• Maintain equipment
• Assist with fundraising and other administrative duties
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, and institutional rules and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Valid driver’s license and insurability under the college’s auto insurance policy
• Preference given to applicants with college coaching experience and/or experience as a college basketball student-athlete
