Graduate Assistant - Men’s Basketball

About the role
The University of Mount Saint Vincent, a member of NCAA Division III and the Skyline Conference, invites applications for a Graduate Assistant for the Men’s Basketball program. This position provides hands-on coaching and administrative experience while supporting all aspects of a competitive collegiate basketball program. Start date: July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with daily operations of the Men’s Basketball program
- Support practice planning, skill development, and game preparation
- Assist with recruiting efforts, including identification, communication, and campus visits
- Coordinate video breakdown and scouting reports
- Support game day management and team travel logistics
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress and promote academic success
- Perform additional administrative duties within the Athletics Department as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Acceptance into, or plans to apply to, a graduate program at the University of Mount Saint Vincent (Business or Education)
- Previous playing or coaching experience in basketball preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, support staff, campus community, and alumni
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III guidelines preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Valid Driver’s License
