About the role
North Park University, a Christian university affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church, seeks a Men's Basketball Graduate Assistant Coach starting in August 2026. The position includes tuition remission, a partial meal plan, and a $3,000 stipend per semester.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the head coach with the daily operations of the men's basketball program.
- Analyzes performance and instructs athletes in basketball techniques and strategies.
- Assists with all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting.
- Executes practice and game planning/evaluation, including video exchange and breakdown.
- Ensures a commitment to the academic success of basketball student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.
- Builds and sustains positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
- Manages equipment usage.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Head Men's Basketball Coach, Assistant Vice President for Athletics, and Associate and Assistant Athletic Directors.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Coaching or playing experience and extensive knowledge of the sport of basketball at the collegiate level are required.
- Applicant must obtain acceptance in a North Park University graduate program.
- Applicant must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e., frequent nights and weekends).
- Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
- Able to travel with the team, by vehicle or plane.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park's mission of Christian higher education.
