Graduate Engineer - Construction Engineering
About the Role
Walter P Moore seeks a well-prepared graduate from one of the top engineering schools to join our firm’s Construction Engineering Services team, a specialized team within the Structures Group. In this role, you will work on projects for contractors, steel fabricators and erectors, and similar clients. The position offers the opportunity to participate in our industry-leading staff development program, MOORELearning.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and validate structures at different stages of construction
- Develop construction sequencing for complex structures
- Perform analysis and design of temporary structures to support construction
- Design steel connections
- Participate on project design teams for architectural projects of all types, including commercial, sports, aviation, healthcare, education, and cultural buildings
Requirements
- Master's in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering
- EIT certification
- Strong computer analysis skills and coursework covering a broad array of topics in steel design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated strength in steel design, steel connection design, and structural analysis
- SAP 2000 modeling experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tekla and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Work experience or internships with contractors, steel fabricators, or steel erectors
