Primary Duties and Tasks
- Work 21-25 hours a week during daytime hours in BEAR Central.
- Serve as a point of reception for students and visitors on the second floor of the library and provide front desk coverage as needed.
- Assist with the peer tutoring program, including the tutor pairing process, tracking data related to these pairings, and assisting with SI and/or group tutoring sessions.
- Assist with the study hall program during the fall and spring semesters, including monitoring attendance and supporting students with sign-in.
- Aid front desk staff and address job-related questions, including scheduling conflicts.
- Meet one-on-one with students whose academic challenges are better addressed outside of a group setting and serve as an academic coach for graduate and undergraduate students.
- Develop working knowledge of the TracCloud platform and assist students and tutors with scheduling and reporting.
- Aid students and tutors in the Academic Recovery Program with developing academic plans, setting goals, and maintaining accountability, and participate in co-curricular workshops.
- Assist with the management process for student staff, including the reconciliation of time sheets.
- Aid in CRLA requirements by conducting tutor and academic coach training.
- Participate in promotional events on campus as needed and complete basic administrative tasks, including copying, filing and data entry.
- Be flexible to work daytime and evening hours. Hours are to be determined based on the needs of the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Admission to a graduate program at Lenoir-Rhyne.
- CRLA Academic Coach certification (acquired in fall semester).
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a small office environment.
- Self-reliant and proactive; ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with database management.
- Proficient in MS Office products.
- Scheduling flexibility, including working Sunday hours to support current study hall needs.
