Graduate Assistant - Golf

Responsibilities

  • Aid the head men's and women's golf coach in practice sessions and game preparations.
  • Instruct and coach various positions.
  • Recruit new quality students/athletes for the men's and women's golf program.
  • Assist the strength and conditioning coordinator in implementing both in-season and out-of-season programs.
  • Comply with all rules and guidelines set forth by Carroll University, the athletics department policies, NCAA, and Midwest Conference Bylaws and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Maintain full-time status in an eligible Carroll University graduate program.
  • Additional approval is required for entrance in graduate programs outside of Education.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Previous experience in coaching preferred.
  • Participation in a college-level golf program preferred.

Human Relations Skills

  • Function effectively as a team player within the program and athletics department.
  • Conduct oneself in a productive, professional manner at all times, representing Carroll University at the highest level as a role model and mentor for student athletes.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, and related computer applications to ensure organizational skills necessary for success in the program.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills relevant to recruiting, interacting with parents, alumni, and current student athletes.
  • Work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.

Compliance

  • May be required to report violations of law under Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).
  • This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act.
  • Required to report Clery crimes to Public Safety and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
