Essential Position Responsibilities

• Visually grade product being dropped onto the line
• Ensure only quality products remain on line
• Remove defective product off line and place it into identified defect groups
• Ensure the product meets customer requirements such as quality, weight or count
• Participate as a member of the Team
• Participate in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members
• Attend appropriate team meetings
• As a member of the Team, foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
• Accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization
• Be familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives

Physical Activities & Work Environment

• Occasional twisting at the neck and waist
• Constant standing, bending at the neck and waist, simple grasping with the hands, fine manipulation/feeling with the hands, reaching at shoulder level, repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands, use of vision, light lifting/carrying
• Work inside line work around loud equipment/machines; walking around drains, footbaths, hoses; wet environment
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs as required by specific product grade lines
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ear plugs, apron, gloves, hair net/beard net, waterproof footwear
• Travel: None

• Communication skills & decision quality - Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team
