Grade Pre-K-5 Special Education Teacher

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted instruction to students in Pre K through grade 5
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student growth
• Provide specially designed instruction for students with diverse learning needs
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
• Contribute to a collaborative school culture focused on equity and student success

Qualifications

• Maine Teacher Certification with endorsement in Special Education
• Experience with early elementary students preferred
• Strong understanding of inclusive practices, early literacy and numeracy development, and positive behavior supports
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in special education (or a degree in process)
• Valid Special Education teaching license for the state of Maine 282 (or working toward licensure)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC)
