Grade Checker (Houston, TX)

Responsibilities

• Understand plans and specs, layout of crew and project
• Provide clear direction for cut/fill
• Set hubs and stakes
• Calculate percentages, volumes, areas, and production rates
• Accurately set grade
• Set up sloping laser
• Shoot in building elevations
• GPS setup & operation
• Operate within OSHA and DNT safety policies
• Help to achieve project schedules

Requirements

• Experience in the use of measuring instruments and hand tools
• Training in marking and reading survey stakes to determine grade specifications
• The ability to observe, direct, and control equipment excavating activities to conform to stake references
• The ability to communicate with equipment operators, supervision and management

Qualifications

• ON TIME and READY TO WORK
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Ability to work outside in all weather for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate effectively with management and field personnel
• Bilingual is a plus but not a must

Benefits

This position is Monday through Saturday and often requires overtime.

Pay

Compensation is based on experience.
