Grade 5 Teacher (Parental Leave Coverage)

About the role

The Meadowbrook School of Weston is seeking a fifth grade educator to cover a parental leave from September through mid-December of the 2026-2027 school year. The school is a mission-driven institution located in Weston, MA, seven miles west of Boston.

Responsibilities

• Teach a co-teaching class with two other teachers on the team.
• Engage in the social-emotional development of fifth graders.
• Implement Reading and Writing Workshop, Singapore Math, and social studies curricula.
• Develop and manage performance-based groups for reading and math.
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote a healthy and stimulating learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred)
• At least two years teaching experience (preferred)
• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team/co-teaching environment
• Knowledge of and/or teaching experience with Singapore Math (preferred)
• Experience with managing performance-based groups for reading and math (preferred)

Pay

Annualized salary for faculty is determined according to a step scale commensurate with years of teaching experience (base annualized salary range is $64,960 - $100,000+), and will be prorated for the length of the leave cover. This position is not currently benefits eligible.

Schedule

This is a temporary position covering a parental leave from September through mid-December of the 2026-2027 school year.

Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills, flexibility, and collegiality in promoting a healthy and stimulating relationship.

Skills

Knowledge of and/or teaching experience with Singapore Math, experience with managing performance-based groups for reading and math, and a demonstrated background and/or interest in cultural competency, curriculum development, and technology integration are preferred.
