Position Overview

The Grade 2 Teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction aligned with state standards, fostering a positive classroom culture, and supporting the developmental needs of 7–8.5-year-old learners. This educator will use differentiated (Reggio focused) instruction, and hands-on learning, to ensure student growth and success.

What You'll Do

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned for reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
• Create a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
• Use assessments to guide instruction
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into daily routines
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
• Collaborate with grade-level team members and specialists
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
• Support positive behavior systems and classroom expectations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
• Valid teaching certification for Elementary Education (or eligibility to obtain) highly preferred
• Experience teaching early elementary grades preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for child-centered, inquiry-based learning
• Commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and student well-being

Nice to Have

• Experience with Reggio Emilia, project-based learning, or Waldorf/Montessori-inspired approaches
• Familiarity with SEL frameworks and trauma-informed practices
• Strong collaboration and team teaching mindset
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
