Grad Pharmacist

About the role

We are seeking a Graduate Pharmacy Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice, preparing you for a Pharmacist role.

Responsibilities

• Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
• Support pharmacy teams to ensure smooth operations, prompt prescription filling, and accurate dispensing
• Assist with patient safety and error prevention, quality assurance, and DUR
• Operate as part of the pharmacy team, adhering to SOPs and best practices
• Contribute to positive patient experiences through empathy and genuine care
• Take on greater accountability for supporting management, oversight, and operations within the pharmacy
• Support additional patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing
• Comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles

Requirements

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Attention and focus: ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy
• Customer service and team orientation: actively looking for ways to help people, communicating effectively, and responding appropriately to patients and colleagues
• Mathematical reasoning: ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
• Problem resolution: identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
• Physical demands: be mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, reaching overhead, stretching, and bending

Qualifications

• Ability to work in home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
