About the role

The Government client in Long Island City, NY is seeking an experienced Government Procurement Analyst to support procurement activities associated with a large-scale public-sector technology and data modernization initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and issue complex solicitations, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Review and analyze vendor proposals and competitive bids.
  • Conduct detailed cost and price analyses to support procurement decisions and best-value outcomes.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local government procurement regulations and policies.
  • Support compliance with applicable public-sector procurement rules and established procurement procedures.
  • Prepare detailed reports covering procurement status, metrics, outcomes, and other information needed by leadership.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing guidance on procurement strategies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Partner closely with legal, finance, program, and technology teams throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate, organized procurement documentation and records.
  • Guide and mentor junior procurement professionals.
  • Manage multiple procurement priorities independently while collaborating effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in government procurement or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement rules, regulations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and managing complex competitive solicitations, including RFPs.
  • Experience evaluating proposals and bids and conducting cost and price analyses.
  • Strong understanding of procurement compliance and competitive purchasing practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a large, complex government or public-sector organization.
  • Familiarity with New York City or comparable municipal procurement rules and procedures.
  • Experience supporting technology, data modernization, IT, or professional-services procurements.
  • Experience collaborating directly with legal, finance, program, and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior procurement professionals.
