Government Payroll Operations Analyst

About the role
We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to manage weekly timekeeping administration for our government program timekeeping system. This highly visible position supports both operations and finance, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely timekeeping processes. You will reconcile posted hours, provide labor cost assessments and forecasting support, and train new employee groups on proper timekeeping practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily, weekly, and payroll-close timecard audits
- Ensure timely and accurate timecard processing and issue resolution
- Manage timesheet corrections and pay adjustments activities
- Review case outcomes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance
- Support high-volume or high-risk operational periods as needed
- Remain hands-on and willing to support case processing, audits, or urgent operational needs
- Manage vendor and customer set-up and edits
- Administer employee timecard training

- Report any quality problems or defects to management for corrective action

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- Deltek Costpoint ERP experience, preferred
- 5 years’ experience in a professional accounting or finance role
- Former exposure to government program timecard processing
- Quantitative analytical skills, including the ability to review and analyze payroll reports
- Self-starter comfortable interacting face-to-face with employees
- Ability to work collaboratively across functional departments
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Creative problem solver with strong analytical thinking and prioritization skills

Pay
Annual base salary range: $92,000 to $102,000. Final compensation will be determined based on job level, geographic location, experience, skills, education, and market considerations.
