Government Compliance Counsel
About the role
The Government Compliance Counsel plays a key role in promoting Accenture’s compliance with public procurement laws, regulations, and Accenture policies, with the goal of protecting the assets and reputation of Accenture. The Government Compliance Counsel supports the Government Compliance Officer and Director of Government Compliance with the implementation and management of Accenture’s Government Compliance program and serves as a subject matter expert on public procurement rules and Government Compliance obligations. This includes an understanding of conflicts of interest risks when working with government clients and post-government hiring rules for current and former government employees. The Government Compliance Counsel helps the Legal team and the business understand the Government Compliance program and coordinates with teams within CORE, Global Contracting, Contract Management, and outside counsel as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation and execution of Accenture’s Government Compliance program initiatives, including:
- Development and delivery of Government Compliance training
- Development, review, and implementation of Government Compliance policies and internal controls
- Planning and drafting Government Compliance communications with internal stakeholders
- Working with senior management and outside counsel to conduct risk assessments, recommend improvements to the Government Compliance program, and support the implementation of adopted recommendations
- Working with internal stakeholders to build Government Compliance and monitoring tools to help Accenture executives flag, escalate, and mitigate compliance risks
- Provides objective, focused, practical advice and solutions to Accenture businesses and Legal Professionals regarding compliance with public procurement rules, Government Compliance obligations, Accenture’s Code of Business Ethics, Accenture’s Government Compliance policies, and all other related policies.
- Collaborates with Legal colleagues and the business to identify, analyze, and mitigate Government Compliance risks.
- Collaborates with Legal Mergers & Acquisitions colleagues and Corporate Development to identify, analyze, and mitigate substantive Government Compliance issues.
- Collaborates with CORE colleagues to provide thought leadership for Accenture’s Government Compliance efforts by staying abreast of relevant developments.
