You will help our clients navigate the complex world of modern AI, data and analytics. We’ll look to you to provide our clients with a unique business perspective on how data science and analytics can transform and improve their entire organization – starting with key business issues they face. Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize applications that leverage modern web frameworks and AI models.
  • Support government clients with delivering the latest data science and big data technologies and practices to design, build and maintain scalable and robust solutions that unify, enrich and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Implement generative AI models and work with AI/ML engineers to develop web applications.
  • Ensure quality and product excellence across solutions.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Experience with JavaScript and frameworks like React, Next.js or similar.
  • Experience with back-end development (Python, FastAPI or similar).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Vercel.
  • Experience developing, maintaining and improving web applications using modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Svelte, Vue, Remix/React Router, etc.).
  • Understanding of generative AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source LLMs) integrated into web-based products.
  • Experience collaborating with designers, product managers, AI/ML engineers to create intelligent user experiences.
  • Experience writing tests and participating in code reviews.
  • Designing, architecting, and developing solutions leveraging big data technology (Open Source, Hortonworks, AWS or Microsoft) to ingest, process and analyze large, disparate data sets.
  • Unifying, enriching, and analyzing customer data to derive new insights and opportunities.
  • Leveraging in-house data platforms and recommending and building new data platforms/solutions as required.
  • Clearly communicating findings, recommendations, and opportunities to improve data systems and solutions.
  • Demonstrating deep understanding of data science concepts, tools, and benefits of different approaches.
  • Seeking out information to learn about emerging methodologies and technologies.
  • Clarifying problems by driving to understand the true issue.
  • Looking for opportunities for improving methods and outcomes.
  • Applying data-driven approaches (KPIs) to tie technology solutions to specific business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Must have bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • At least 6–8+ years of overall relevant professional experience.
  • Modern web development (JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).
  • Back-end development (Node.js, Python, FastAPI or similar).
  • Experience integrating generative AI models into applications (APIs or fine-tuned models).
  • Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Vercel, etc.).
  • 2+ years of GenAI experience plus understanding of statistical modeling.
  • Experience with ETL, data ingestion/cleansing and engineering skills.
  • Machine learning using k-NN, Naive Bayes, decision trees, SVM.
  • Experience using data mining and statistical tools.
  • Solid pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills.
  • Experience with recommendation engines, scoring systems, A/B testing.
  • Hands-on experience with tools/libraries such as Weka, NumPy, PyMongo, R, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies in one or more ecosystems (Hadoop, AWS or Microsoft).
  • Willingness to work in-person as needed.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in mathematics, information systems, statistics, computer science, or related discipline.
  • Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate) and AI inference optimizations.
  • Experience with open-source AI and web projects.
  • Experience with RAG or fine-tuning models.
  • Thorough business understanding of data science application and ability to communicate with key decision-makers.

Work Arrangement

Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel 20–30% or more.

Pay

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $230,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,700 to $261,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
