You will help our clients navigate the complex world of modern AI, data and analytics. We’ll look to you to provide our clients with a unique business perspective on how data science and analytics can transform and improve their entire organization – starting with key business issues they face. Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize applications that leverage modern web frameworks and AI models.
  • Support government clients with delivering the latest data science and big data technologies and practices to design, build and maintain scalable and robust solutions that unify, enrich and analyze data from multiple sources.
  • Implement generative AI models, work with AI/ML engineers, develop web applications and ensure quality and product excellence.
  • Develop, maintain and improve web applications using modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Svelte, Vue, Remix/React Router, etc).
  • Integrate generative AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source LLMs) into web-based products.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and AI/ML engineers to create intelligent user experiences.
  • Write tests and participate in code reviews.
  • Design, architect, and develop solutions leveraging big data technology (Open Source, Hortonworks, AWS or Microsoft) to ingest, process and analyze large, disparate data sets to exceed business requirements.
  • Unify, enrich, and analyze customer data to derive new insights and opportunities.
  • Leverage in-house data platforms as needed and recommend and build new data platforms/solutions as required to exceed business requirements.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and opportunities to improve data systems and solutions clearly.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of and ability to teach data science concepts, tools, features, functions, and benefits of different approaches.
  • Seek out information to learn about emerging methodologies and technologies.
  • Clarify problems by driving to understand the true issue.
  • Look for opportunities for improving methods and outcomes.
  • Apply a data-driven approach (KPIs) in tying technology solutions to specific business outcomes.
  • Collaborate, influence, and build consensus through constructive relationships and effective listening.
  • Solve problems by incorporating data into decision making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • At least 1-2+ years of experience with the following:
    • Modern web development (JavaScript/TypeScript).
    • Backend development (Node.js, Python, FastAPI or similar).
    • Integrating generative AI models into applications (APIs or fine-tuned models).
    • Deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Vercel, etc).
  • Comfortable working in-person as needed.
  • Understanding of statistical modeling as well as ETL, data ingestion/cleansing and engineering skills.
  • Hands-on experience with various big data technologies in one or more ecosystems (Hadoop, AWS or Microsoft).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in mathematics, information systems, statistics, computer science, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with vector databases and AI inference optimizations.
  • Experience with open-source AI and web projects.
  • Experience with RAG or fine-tuning models.
  • Thorough business understanding of data science application and ability to communicate with key decision-makers.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to listen, understand questions, and develop and deliver clear insights.

Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel 20 – 30% or more.

Benefits

At EY, we offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $76,200 to $125,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $91,400 to $142,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Schedule

Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
