About the Role

The Gourmet Store Manager oversees daily operations of our market, focusing on team development, performance management, and maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
  • Train and develop all new front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) employees.
  • Maintain a guest-focused approach in all duties.
  • Ensure operational expenses and costs align with budgets and profit goals.
  • Develop and train front-of-house staff.
  • Delegate tasks for ordering supplies and follow up to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform weekly and monthly inventories; update beverage prices on spreadsheets.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, and federal/state/local laws.
  • Maintain a professional market image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Deliver positive guest service and address complaints to turn dissatisfied guests into returning customers.
  • Implement proper security procedures to protect team members, guests, and company assets.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce injury and accident risks.
  • Complete accident reports promptly if a guest or team member is injured.
  • Assist in menu planning, development, and meal specials.
  • Enforce proper cash management controls for all F&B staff, per policy.
  • Manage shifts, including decision-making, scheduling, attendance logs, service standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service.
  • Communicate operational information and procedural changes to team members.
  • Develop team members through ongoing feedback.
  • Maintain an up-to-date staffing plan with trained and competent individuals.
  • Understand all department policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Be familiar with resort services, amenities, and outlets.
  • Available for work assignments outside of customary hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and catering events.
  • Comply with all Store Market policies and procedures as communicated by management.
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
  • Work effectively with the Human Resources Director on proper documentation and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in retail administration, preferably in market management, with increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
