Gopfert Assistant - 3rd shift

Description

The Gopfert Flexo-Die Cutter Apprentice will be trained to set up, trouble shoot, and operate both the flexo and die cutter sections of the Gopfert machine. Daily job duties include:

• Operating the Gopfert when situations warrant
• Setting up the flexo and die cutter sections of the Gopfert
• Mounting, retrieving, and returning printing plates and cutting dies for the Gopfert
• Helping the operator evaluate print and die cut production quality and bringing concerns to the attention of the operator
• Cleaning printing plates as needed
• Monitoring and maintaining the overall printing and die cutting process and troubleshooting as needed
• Operating the feeder section of the machine when in production
• Aiding in the direction and training of helpers assigned to assist with the workload
• Prepping the machine for the next production run with corrugated sheets, cutting dies, printing plates, etc.
• Ensuring the overall safety and cleanliness of equipment and area
• Performing tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Performing overtime as required
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED minimum
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
• Proficient Microsoft Office computer skills to include Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Prior printing experience
• The ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products
