Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and support production services on Google Cloud with an emphasis on resilience, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain infrastructure components across compute, storage, databases, messaging, serverless platforms, and Kubernetes-based environments.
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows to provision, validate, and release infrastructure and application changes safely.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and establish guardrails that reduce risk, improve consistency, and support controlled change management.
- Strengthen cloud foundations by defining and applying standards for identity access, private networking, firewall controls, secrets management, and data protection.
- Improve platform observability through monitoring, logging, tracing, and cost reporting, and use insights to optimize service health and operational visibility.
- Respond to incidents, investigate root causes, refine alerting and service objectives, and improve backup, recovery, and capacity planning practices.
- Partner with security, platform, data, and application teams to review architecture decisions, operational readiness, and risk before production launches.
- Guide engineering teams on Google Cloud best practices, sustainable operational processes, and effective use of automation across the delivery lifecycle.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related technical role.
- Strong, recent hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform, including services such as Pub/Sub and BigQuery.
- Proven experience using Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Background building automation scripts and CI/CD workflows for repeatable, reliable deployment and operational processes.
- Experience working with Kubernetes in production environments, including deployment, scaling, and ongoing platform support.
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles, including least-privilege access, network controls, secrets handling, and compliance-aware design.
- Demonstrated ability to support incident response, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization in complex cloud environments.
