About the Role

The City of Goodyear is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the city’s technology infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of all IT systems supporting municipal operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and management of city-wide IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services.
  • Develop and implement IT policies, standards, and best practices to ensure system security, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Oversee the administration of enterprise systems, including email, databases, and business applications.
  • Manage IT infrastructure projects, including budgeting, vendor negotiations, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery preparedness.
  • Collaborate with city departments to assess technology needs and align infrastructure solutions with operational goals.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to IT staff, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, virtualization, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience with enterprise-level systems, including Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, and VMware.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
