About the Role

This position effectively divides time to accomplish both Training Manager and Store Manager duties.

Responsibilities

Training Manager Duties

  • Acts as trainer for new managers by hosting them at the home store, setting an example, and providing hands-on training.
  • Coordinates training to ensure new managers receive all scheduled training.
  • Provides feedback to trainees throughout the training process.
  • Partners with Training Director and Retail Director to keep all parties informed of trainee progress.
  • May act as mentor to new managers following completion of the training program.
  • Comfortable providing training and sharing training documents in-person, via phone, or using online platforms.

Store Retail Manager Duties

  • Manages daily operations of the assigned retail store.
  • Models professional boundaries with staff, participants, and the public.
  • Builds strong working relationships.
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, merchandising, and inventory.
  • Maintains store in an orderly fashion, rotates merchandise, and oversees production and pricing of merchandise.
  • Manages inventory for maximum return on product.
  • Operates store and plant efficiently to meet net income goals indicated on the annual budget.
  • Supervises and trains all store personnel, including new team members.
  • Ensures store safety.
  • Assures a high level of guest and donor service.
  • Ensures Easter Seals-Goodwill policies and procedures are uniformly followed.

Requirements

  • Sensitive to guest needs and wishes.
  • Ability to work effectively with people with disabilities or other special needs preferred.
  • Must have computer experience and be competent in internet use and a variety of computer software applications.
  • Prefer experience with profit and loss, sales, or cost management accountability.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication, monetary, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with staff and guests.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform all job requirements.
  • Able to lift and carry 20-100 pounds with team lifting or mechanical assistance.
  • Able to stand, stoop, bend, or carry for extended periods.
  • Tolerance to extreme changes in temperature and humidity.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends or longer shifts if needed.
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional overnight travel and weekend work required if applicable.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a good driving record, valid driver’s license, and proof of personal vehicle insurance.
  • All positions require the completion of a background check; acknowledging or having criminal convictions does not constitute an automatic bar to employment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of retail or comparable management experience.
