About the role
The Good Day Respite program is a non-medical, adult day program for individuals with mild to moderate cognitive impairment. The Activities Coordinator plans, provides, and coordinates purposeful activities designed to meet the needs and interests of the Good Day Respite Program participants.
Responsibilities
- Plan, provide, and coordinate purposeful activities designed to meet the needs and interests of the Good Day Respite Program participants.
- Provide a safe and comfortable environment.
- Work with program volunteers.
- Communicate with caregivers.
- Aid in screening applicants for the program.
- Engage in community relationships that promote the program and participants.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working with geriatric individuals or persons with disabilities.
- Must be certified in adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) equivalent to basic life support from either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
- If not currently certified, must receive certification upon hire.
- Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Must be comfortable with public speaking.
- Must have proof of Flu vaccination.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have automobile insurance.
- Must pass a physical exam within the last year.
- Must pass a two-step TB test.
