Pay range: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour based on skills and experience. This position is non-exempt and overtime eligible.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the attainment of Victory Housing, Inc. takes precedence over all decisions and actions.
- Plan, organize, and implement activities for residents, with a minimum of six active activities per day, seven days a week. Activities must include a combination of recreational, social, educational, spiritual, physical fitness, therapeutic, cultural, outings, volunteering, entertainment, and artistic experiences. Passive activities such as watching TV are not considered valid activities.
- Coordinate one-on-one resident activities with the Assistant Director, utilizing caregivers as needed.
- Drive the community van to destinations with residents as per the activities calendar or as needed, and assist residents during outings.
- Perform a resident assessment/survey for each resident admitted to identify activity preferences and develop a base for the activities program. Complete the survey within two days of admission.
- Plan activities, make necessary purchases and arrangements, and create a monthly calendar of activities/events, posted centrally in the home by the first of each month.
- Keep records of assessments and attendance at activities.
- Maintain program activities within the budget, keep records of expenditures, and submit receipts for payment/reimbursement immediately.
- Publish a monthly newsletter containing the activity calendar.
- Purchase and maintain an inventory of all required activities supplies and equipment.
- Assist in the creation of a Resident Council to be held monthly; maintain minutes of meetings if invited by residents and inform the Executive Director regarding areas of concern or needs.
- Attend seminars and conferences to enhance professional development and stay current with trends in providing a quality program to residents.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education or training in recreational therapy or a related field, or experience with activities planning.
- Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified timeframe.
- Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for the elderly, and demonstrate tact in dealing with others.
- Preference for experience in supervision and management.
- Must have a valid driver’s license for the state of employment.
- Must have an acceptable DMV driving record and be approved by Catholic Mutual insurance company.
- Must be current on all vaccinations including COVID-19 and receive CDC-recommended booster doses.
