Golf Starter

About the Role

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Golf, you will supervise specific parts of the golf operation, including Starters, Rangers, and Outside Golf Staff, as well as support the daily operation of the Golf Pro Shop. You may also teach private, group, and junior golf lessons as available.

Responsibilities

• Enthusiastically greet guests (by name if possible) and speak with them in a friendly, warm manner to make them feel welcome.
• Display conduct in an appropriate manner at all times in accordance with Omni Hotels standards.
• Utilize a working knowledge of club operations to render professional advice, opinions, assistance, and services as required.
• Perform duties and meet requirements for tournaments, club rentals, and services as deemed necessary by the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Professionals.
• Promote the interests of the resort by providing exceptional service to guests.
• Provide a guest-friendly environment and coordinate the golf guest on-course experience to ensure a positive and memorable round of golf and hotel stay.

Tools and Equipment

• Telephone, pen/pencil, photocopying machine, hand and stationary tools related to the trade.
• Golf carts, golf clubs, and utility vehicles.

Working Environment

• Interior of the hotel, including all areas of the property.
• Exterior of the hotel with exposure to weather conditions and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, plus two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
• Teaching background in group, private, and junior golf instruction.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attentive to detail.
• Available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
