About Us
The Hills is a close-knit, private club and community with 110 residences in the Hamptons on New York’s Long Island. The club offers a world-class Tom Fazio golf course, wellness center, culinary experiences, and Discovery’s signature Outdoor Pursuits program. The Hills is part of Discovery Land Company, a developer and operator of private residential club communities and resorts.
Responsibilities
- Greet members upon arrival and departure on the range.
- Assist with service during their round and promptly respond to any player requests.
- Work in conjunction with the valet team and assist as needed.
- Communicate with departments regarding members transitioning through the property.
- Stock and restock golf carts with beverages, towels, and other amenities throughout the day.
- Ensure an adequate number of carts are staged and ready for use at all times.
- Maintain clean shuttles, club carts, and personal golf carts throughout the day.
- Clean all players' clubs (members, guests, and prospects) before and after each round.
- Always count clubs before putting them in storage or sending them back to the valet area.
- Complete daily set-up/breakdown of all range equipment, amenities, and activities.
- Closing duties: remove range furniture, wash golf balls, restock buckets, clean carts, and plug carts into charging stations.
- Assist in the Golf Shop as a retail associate as requested.
- Accurate tracking of all daily golf activity.
- Assist with monthly inventory count.
- Opportunity to provide caddie services if qualified and requested by the Director of Golf.
- Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in hospitality or golf.
- Knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and terminology is preferred but not required.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a team environment and stay calm during busy periods.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands: working indoors/outdoors in all weather, standing/walking for over 8 hours, and lifting/carrying items over 50 pounds.
