Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the golf operations and outside services teams to provide and promote an exceptional golf experience.
  • Select, develop, lead, and retain talented staff in the golf operations and outside services departments.
  • Ensure compliance with national programs like Players Club and other initiatives.
  • Achieve and oversee financial targets and appropriate accounting procedures.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place to accurately track revenues such as green fees, golf carts, lockers, and handicap fees.
  • Ensure golf operations and outside services staff provide excellent guest service.
  • Review guest and member surveys and feedback and implement appropriate actions.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives by coordinating social media and creating promotional materials.
  • Work with the General Manager to create and execute operational and financial plans.
  • Administer and oversee club programs such as the golf cart rental and handicap programs.
  • Maintain constant communication between departments and keep other departments informed about special programs and events.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a golf operations role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Experience supervising others and leading a team.
  • Excellent customer skills.

Working Conditions

  • Will often be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A majority of time will be spent reviewing financial documents, thinking, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, problem-solving, reasoning, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, variances, and percentages are used daily.
  • A significant amount of time is spent communicating and interacting with various people inside and outside the company.

Physical / Cognitive Activities

  • A majority of time will be reviewing financial documents, therefore a significant portion of time is spent thinking, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Reading and writing abilities are often used when communicating with the golf course department managers when planning budgets and developing forecasts.
