About the role
The City of Hampton is seeking a Golf Course Technician to join our Parks and Recreation Department. This position provides hands-on care and maintenance of golf courses, including landscaping, chemical application, horticulture, turf maintenance, and equipment operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and seasonal tasks to maintain golf course quality and appearance.
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers according to established guidelines.
- Manage irrigation systems and ensure proper water usage.
- Repair and maintain golf course equipment and facilities.
- Assist with special events and tournaments as needed.
- Work closely with a team to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with one (1) year of experience as a grounds technician, equipment operator, or in a skilled labor position preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Registered Technician Pesticide License preferred.
- Physical condition suitable for the demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay
$15.53 hourly.
Schedule
Part-time position with weekly hours not exceeding 25 hours per week, and may be less.
