Golf Course Superintendent NF-04
This position is located at Fort Huachuca Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation: Mountain View Golf Course. Open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S., including Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
About the role
Incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and condition of the entire playing area of the golf course. This includes directing and supervising subordinate employees in phases of course maintenance such as mowing, fertilizing, and maintaining tees, fairways, greens, and roughs. Supervises the cleaning, painting, and general repair of buildings, fences, bridges, and shelters directly affecting golf play, as well as completion of general landscaping projects.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise subordinate employees in golf course maintenance tasks.
- Maintain and repair tees, fairways, greens, and roughs.
- Oversee cleaning, painting, and general repair of buildings, fences, bridges, and shelters.
- Complete general landscaping projects.
- Obtain a DOD Pest Management Certificate.
- Apply working knowledge of chemicals used for insect, weed, and brush control.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
- Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks, including a medical examination.
- May require completion of a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card.
- Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Must be willing and able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications
- One year of directly related work experience in all phases of golf course maintenance (e.g., maintenance, repair, and condition of the entire playing area).
- Resumes must be two pages or less and clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

- This job is open to candidates who reside within 80 miles of Fort Huachuca.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized.
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid.
