Golf Course Superintendent

Oversees operations and business functions at the Joseph M. Bartholomew, Sr. Municipal Golf Course, including golf course maintenance, agronomic operations, pro shop and inventory management, driving range operations, cart rentals, food and beverage operations, and special event support.

Responsibilities

• Manage golf course maintenance and agronomic operations.
• Establish maintenance standards to ensure optimal playing conditions.
• Oversee pro shop and inventory management.
• Supervise driving range operations and cart rentals.
• Manage food and beverage operations.
• Support special events.

Requirements

• 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of supervisory experience in golf course management or related recreational operations.
• Additional qualifying supervisory experience may substitute for the required education at a rate of one year of experience for 30 semester hours.
• Must obtain Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification through the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Certified Golf Course Superintendent through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) (preferred). Employees holding this certification receive 10% above their normal rate of pay.
