Job Responsibilities
- Maintains and repairs golf course equipment, including turf mowers, parks department equipment, golf carts, and heavy equipment such as dump trucks.
- Performs golf course buildings repair.
- Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies; orders parts and supplies as needed.
- Aids the Supervisor with any office related duties; including budgeting and invoicing.
- Performs general maintenance procedures on golf course.
- Supervises employees in absence of Supervisor.
- Supervises inmates and community service workers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Class B CDL within 12 months of hire.
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification is required.
- Pesticide License and Certified Reclaimed Water Applicator preferred.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
The position has direct supervision over assigned personnel.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- The work is typically performed outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather, while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, or walking.
- The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, and irritating chemicals.
- The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, and gloves.
- The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and must distinguish between shades of color.
