Job Summary
Performs a variety of skilled, construction and renovation tasks which includes but is not limited to selective demolition, measurement and layout of work, carpentry, framing, drywall installation and finishing, installing acoustical ceiling systems, installing doors, door frames and door hardware, painting, wallcovering, concrete placement and finishing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Years of Experience: 3 years of experience in a construction related field
- Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): 3 years of experience can be substituted for completion of a LMC construction apprentice program
- Required Certifications/Licensure: SC Driver’s License and an acceptable driving history
- Required Training: Must be able to read technical cut sheets, submittals and construction plans with a basic level of comprehension
Duties & Responsibilities
- Trains, instructs and directs helpers and coworkers and as assigned, assists other trades on construction projects.
- Maintains skills and stays current with construction industry trends.
- Executes project requirements and coordinates with appropriate personnel to complete daily tasks.
- Knowledgeable about basic hospital life safety codes and requirements including shut down requirements and interim life safety measures.
- Maintains an optimistic and professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, coworkers and clinical staff. Shows courtesy, compassion and respect. Conforms to Service Expectation Policy and "House Rules".
- Orders construction materials and follows basic policy regarding purchases and documentation of purchases for cost accounting purposes.
