Responsibilities
- Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
- Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
- Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
- Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
- May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.
- Support daily field operations on heavy civil construction sites, including excavation, structural concrete, grading, and utility installation.
- Aid in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and work plans for field crews.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist in tracking material usage and equipment needs on site.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with survey teams for layout, elevations, and as-built data collection.
- Prepare daily field reports, photo documentation, and work logs to support project tracking and billing.
- Assist with resolving field issues by working with superintendents, subcontractors, and design engineers.
- Participate in job site safety meetings, audits, and ensure PPE and safety protocols are being followed.
- Support preparation and tracking of RFIs, submittals, and minor change requests from the field.
- Use construction software and tools to report progress and support communication between field and office teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous heavy civil construction experience.

This position is based in Renton, WA. Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position does not include sponsorship for a United States work authorization. The salary range for this position is between $100,000-$115,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
