Golf Course Maintenance - Assistant in Training

About the role

Grande Oaks Golf Club, located in Davie, FL, is seeking a Full-Time Golf Course Maintenance - Assistant in Training.

Essential Responsibilities

• Aid in mowing greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and surrounding turf areas.
• Perform bunker maintenance including raking, edging, and debris removal.
• Operate hand tools and basic maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with irrigation checks, watering, and minor repairs.
• Help with landscape maintenance including trimming, planting, mulching, and weed control.
• Remove debris, leaves, and trash from the golf course and club grounds.
• Set up and break down golf course accessories including tee markers, ropes, and signage.
• Assist with fertilizer and chemical applications under supervision.
• Follow all golf course safety procedures and operational standards.
• Aid with special projects and tournament preparations as assigned.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.

Qualifications

• High school student, recent graduate, or individual interested in golf course maintenance.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn golf course maintenance practices and equipment operation.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation preferred.
• Golf knowledge is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Safety of operating maintenance tools and equipment.

Preferred Skills

• Interest in turfgrass management, landscaping, or golf operations.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
