Golf Course Equipment Operator - Richland Course

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains all golf course areas and maintenance facility, involving the use of hand-held equipment such as:

  • Weed eater
  • Self-propelled walking mower
  • Backpack and push blowers
  • Fly-mower
  • Edger
  • Rake and shovel
  • Dew whips
  • Core pusher
  • Picks and pitchforks
  • Level lawn

Operate utility cart safely, keeping feet inside the cart at all times. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining sprinkler heads and valve boxes
  • Maintaining bunkers
  • Maintaining cart paths (edge and blow)
  • Walk mowing greens and tees
  • Daily cleanup of equipment and facility
  • Blowing fairways and rough
  • Conducting regular inspections of equipment and reporting issues to the Equipment Manager
  • Spreading pine and hardwood mulch 3 times per week, involving standing, loading/unloading, and hand spreading

All other duties as required by supervision.

Safety Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Perform job responsibilities and operate equipment according to company safety and training programs
  • Use personal protective equipment as trained and required, including safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toe boots, sunscreen, gloves, and seatbelts
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Report safety or hazard concerns to management
  • Report any on-the-job injury to management immediately
  • Take personal responsibility for safety every day
  • Report equipment issues to the Equipment Manager immediately

Qualifications

  • Prefer previous experience on a golf course or construction site, including use of heavy equipment
  • Operate equipment with precision and care
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Open to receiving feedback regarding performance
  • Punctuality is a must
  • Knowledge of golf rules and etiquette is a plus

Schedule

Golf Course Maintenance operates 7 days per week. Employees must be available to work weekends and overtime hours as required.
