About the role

Join the Waukesha County Park System as a Park Seasonal at one of our County golf courses: Moor Downs Golf Course Clubhouse and Maintenance (438 Prospect Avenue, Waukesha) or Naga-Waukee Golf Course Clubhouse and Maintenance (W307 N1897 Maple Avenue, Pewaukee). This role offers the chance to work outdoors, grow your skills, and contribute to improving the community while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. Responsibilities

  • Clubhouse Assistant:
    • Clean Clubhouse areas, wash, fuel, and clean golf cars.
    • Perform tasks on the golf course, including emptying garbage, maintaining ball washers, assisting with greens staff tasks, and filling/maintaining on-course water and soda machines.
    • Assist Pro Shop staff with setup and coordination of outings, tournaments, and Junior Golf Programs.
    • Support Pro Shop staff with answering phones and merchandising the Pro Shop area.
    • Assist concession staff with cleaning and stocking the kitchen and clubhouse area.
    • Perform other duties as required.
  • Attendant:
    • Collect greens fees, rent golf cars, sell Pro Shop merchandise, and concession items.
    • Balance cash register and process credit card transactions.
    • Maintain the daily tee sheet, assist the public, leagues, and outings with schedules, and manage on-course play.
    • Assist in setup and coordination of outings, tournaments, and Junior Golf Programs.
    • Answer phone calls for tee times, registrations, and general information.
    • Monitor on-course pace of play and assist golfers with their needs.
    • Perform other duties as required.

A working knowledge of the golf or service industry is preferred.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately count and handle money.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment necessary for the role.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
  • Ability to interact sensitively with individuals from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, as well as persons of all ages and lifestyles.
  • Ability to work in variable and sometimes unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and handling.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push/pull, and lift up to 10-20 lbs occasionally.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 14 years.
  • Minimum education: 8th grade.
  • Preferred: Recent cash handling and customer service experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
