Treviso Bay Golf Club, located in Naples, FL, is seeking a motivated individual to contribute to a positive experience for members and guests while growing their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you’ll be part of a global leader in golf and community management.

About the role

The Assistant Superintendent works with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the golf course. This position observes golf course conditions, makes suggestions to the Golf Course Superintendent, and works in all facets of golf course management with an emphasis on irrigation, fertilizer/pesticide application, and employee management.

The ideal candidate possesses practical knowledge in maintaining golf course landscapes (greens, tees, and fairways), proper use of fertilizers, herbicides, and pest control methods, drainage control, and irrigation systems including pumps and automatic controls.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent to supervise, schedule, and train full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff.
  • Supervise maintenance work to achieve efficient utilization of workers and equipment while ensuring quality results.
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and implementing maintenance practices and projects.
  • Apply fertilizers and plant protectants, calibrate sprayers and spreaders, and record all applications to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform irrigation scheduling and basic irrigation repairs.
  • Conduct basic mowing tasks and cultural practices as needed.
  • Safely operate golf course equipment, including carts, mowers, rollers, rakes, loaders, and automobiles.
  • Maintain awareness of changing course conditions, recognize problems, and communicate maintenance needs to the Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Two-year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in Turf Grass Management or a related field (preferred).
  • Ability to obtain a pesticide license within six months of employment.
  • 1–3 years of golf course maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work scheduled holidays and weekends.

Pay

$85,000 - $95,000 annually, based on experience.
