We are looking for an experienced and motivated GM/Sales Manager in Manufacturing to lead our building equipment company. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning across sales, customer service, inventory, and staff management. You will collaborate with department heads to set goals, track performance, and drive profitable growth.
Responsibilities
- Operations and Leadership: Oversee all departments (sales, service, warehouse, administration), set expectations, monitor performance, and resolve operational issues to ensure efficiency.
- Financial Management: Meet revenue and profit targets by reviewing financial reports, managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying margin-improvement opportunities. Report results to ownership/executive team.
- Sales and Customer Relations: Support the sales team in building and maintaining customer relationships, closing large accounts, resolving issues, and identifying new business opportunities.
- Team Development: Hire, train, and develop staff across departments, conduct performance reviews, and foster a productive work environment.
- Inventory and Supply Chain: Collaborate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure equipment/parts availability, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate pricing/terms.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure operations adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies, including workplace safety and equipment compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of management/leadership experience, preferably in equipment, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales and profitability targets.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-departmental teams.
- Solid understanding of business financials (budgeting, forecasting, P&L statements).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for staff, customers, and suppliers.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/ERP systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building equipment or heavy machinery industry.
- Familiarity with equipment rental operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or related field.
- Experience using CRM software for customer/sales management.
- Bilingual communication skills.
Benefits
- Negotiable salary: $100,000–$130,000, depending on experience.
