About the role

AUMOVIO is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GM Resident Engineer to join our technical team in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical engineering support to manufacturing facilities and production teams
  • Conduct root cause analysis on production issues and develop effective corrective action plans
  • Analyze automotive systems, components, and processes using engineering tools and methodologies
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and design teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize operations
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and engineering analyses
  • Maintain organized records of engineering data, test results, and project documentation
  • Monitor compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Support process improvement initiatives and implement engineering solutions
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site production environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with GM manufacturing processes and quality standards
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and automotive quality standards
  • Experience with failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience with cross-functional project management

Skills

  • Knowledge of automotive systems and manufacturing processes
