Global VP of Media Planning
About the role
We oversee the global media planning function across our Commercial Solutions organization. Reporting into the SVP, Creative UK, you will manage a team of 20 media planners based in London and New York.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the global media planning function across London and New York to establish a unified, insight-based planning approach
- Develop strategic media recommendations for high-value client opportunities, global partnerships, and complex integrated campaigns
- Partner with Sales, Creative Strategy, and Ad Operations to deliver compelling proposals and ensure successful campaign execution
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of 20 media planners, establishing clear career pathways and performance processes
- Standardize planning methodologies, tools, and best practices globally while adopting new planning technologies and AI-enabled workflows
- Act as the senior media planning advisor for key global clients, presenting integrated media strategies to executive stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience in media planning and media strategy within premium publishing, media, agency, or digital environments
- Experience leading large, geographically distributed planning teams
- Deep understanding of cross-platform media planning, including print, digital, social, video, audio, experiential, and emerging media
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting enterprise sales organizations and high-value client partnerships
- Expertise in audience measurement, media research, first-party data strategies, and campaign effectiveness
- Experience building scalable planning processes and operational frameworks
- Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders internally and externally
