Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, this role supports the financial department by managing daily Concur tasks, collaborating across teams, and generating reports to enhance financial awareness and decision-making.
About the role
The Global Travel & Expense Specialist ensures efficient operation of the department by applying accounting principles, analyzing financial data, and maintaining strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Audit employee business expense reports using the Concur expense reimbursement system in accordance with the Company’s Travel & Business Expense Policy.
- Maintain the Company’s corporate credit card program, reconcile monthly transactions, manage delinquency escalation, reconcile cardholder accounts, and address cardholder inquiries.
- Perform validation and investigations of employee expense reimbursements using the T&E analytics tool.
- Manage the T&E inbox by responding to end-user questions, providing training and education on the Company’s T&E applications and policies.
- Identify and drive cost-savings and process efficiency initiatives through partnerships with cross-functional teams, including regional T&E teams (e.g., Concur audit rule enhancements, process flow improvements, and automation activities).
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Company’s Travel Management Company.
- Perform ad-hoc Concur and Corporate Card reporting and analysis.
- Assist with fraud or expense audits and investigations.
- Support SOX and external audit activities.
- Provide support for AP functions as needed.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in accounting (or equivalent).
- 2+ years of high-volume expense reporting experience.
- Experience with Concur (Administration Level).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Aptean Ross) and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent).
- Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, and/or manufacturing industries.
- Sarbanes-Oxley 404 public accounting or industry experience.
- Strong work ethic, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to learn.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Unquestionable integrity and personal ethics.
- Ability to adapt, prioritize competing projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Location
Johnson City, TN (5 days onsite required) or Nashville, TN (4-5 days onsite required).
