What You'll Do

  • Lead strategic sourcing for critical AI hardware components, including:
    • Module and rack-level system integration (mechanical, thermal, electrical, and software co-design)
    • RDIMM, HBM, SSDs, and other high-speed memory technologies, custom storage platforms
    • Cooling solutions (liquid, cold plates, thermal interface materials, airflow systems)
  • Own the full sourcing lifecycle:
    • Drive RFQs, contract negotiations (NDAs, GTCs, piece pricing), and supplier onboarding
    • Develop and manage long-term strategic agreements that deliver cost, quality, and delivery advantages
    • Ensure compliance with Tesla’s industrialization standards and landed cost targets
    • Partner with engineering teams to define technical requirements and validate supplier capabilities
    • Evaluate suppliers based on yield, manufacturability, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)
    • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and ramp-to-scale with clear risk mitigation plans
    • Monitor global market dynamics: Track technology roadmaps, supply/demand trends, and emerging materials or packaging innovations
    • Identify and act on supply chain risks (e.g., semiconductor shortages, logistics constraints, geopolitical factors)
    • Build contingency plans for mission-critical components
    • Influence at the executive level: Communicate sourcing strategies, risks, and opportunities clearly across engineering, finance, legal, and operations
    • Champion Tesla’s long-term supply chain vision and innovation goals

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with a focus on electronics module manufacturing, thermal management systems, or high-performance hardware integration
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
  • Excellent data-driven decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with business goals and drive measurable impact
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams and levels
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, and legal team to drive alignment and execute sourcing strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring strategic collaboration and mutual growth
